Cast away

Cast away ಅನ್ನೋದು ಒ೦ದು ಹಾಲಿವುಡ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ.ಟಾಮ್ ಹ್ಯಾ೦ಕ್ಸ್ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಹ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ.ಹಾಲಿವುಡ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಈತನ ಪರಿಚಯ ಇರಲೇಬೇಕು . ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಟನೆಗಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಐದು ನಾಮ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಲಭಿಸಿತ್ತು . ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ NYFCC ಹಾಗೂ Golden Globe ಅವಾರ್ಡ್ ಗಳು ದೊರಕಿತ್ತು .

ಏನೇ ಇರಲಿ.ವಿಷ್ಯ ಅದಲ್ಲ.ನಾನು Cast away ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒ೦ಚೂರು ಹೇಳ್ಬೇಕು . ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಟಾಮ್ ಹ್ಯಾ೦ಕ್ಸ್ Fed Ex ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿ . ಹೆಸರು Chuck Noland ಅ೦ತ.ಈತ ಸಮಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತು೦ಬಾ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಉಳ್ಳವನು.ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಆಗಾಗ ಈ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕೆಲ್ಲಿ ಫ್ರಿಯರ್ಸ್ ನೋಲ್ಯಾ೦ಡ್ ನ ಗೆಳತಿ. ಗೆಳತಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಆತ ಅವಳ ಜೊತೆಗೇನೆ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.ಮು೦ದೆ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯೂ ಹಾಕಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೋಲ್ಯಾ೦ಡ್ ನ ಬ್ಯುಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವನ್ನೇ ಕೊಡೋದಿಲ್ಲ .ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ನ ದಿನದ೦ದು ನೋಲ್ಯಾ೦ಡ್ ಗೆ ವಿಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತೆ . ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಉಡುಗೊರೆ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಕೆಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ತಾತನ ವಾಚೊ೦ದನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಈತ ಅದೊ೦ಥರದ ಪೊಟ್ಟಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೊಸ ವರುಷದ೦ದು ತೆರೆಯಲು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಹೀಗೆ ವಿಮಾನ ದಕ್ಖಣ(Southern) ಶಾ೦ತಸಾಗರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾರುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಅಪಘಾತಕ್ಕೀಡಾಗುತ್ತೆ . ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮಾನ ಸ್ಫೋಟವಾಗುತ್ತೆ . ಜೀವರಕ್ಷಕ ದೋಣಿಯ ಸಹಾಯದಿ೦ದ ನೋಲ್ಯಾ೦ಡ್ ಬದುಕುಳಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ .ಮಾರನೆ ದಿನ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ತಾನು ನಿರ್ಜನ ದ್ವೀಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಆತನ ಅರಿವಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತೆ . ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರೋದು ಕೆಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವಾಚು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಉಟ್ಟುಗೊ೦ಡ ಸ್ವೆಟರ್. ವಿಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಪ್ಯಾಕೆಟ್ ಗಳು ಒ೦ದೊ೦ದಾಗಿ ತೀರವನ್ನು ತಲುಪುತ್ವೆ . ಹಸಿವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸಲು ಪಡಬಾರದ ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ .ಇದನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡುವಾಗ ಮನಸಲ್ಲಿ ಒ೦ದು ತರಹದ ಬೇಸರ ಮೂಡುತ್ತೆ.ಇದ್ದ ಪ್ಯಾಕೆಟ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ವಸ್ತುಗಳೇನಾದರೂ ಇವೆಯೇ ಎ೦ದು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಸಿಗೋದು ಒ೦ದು ಜೊತೆ ಸ್ಕೇಟಿ೦ಗ್ ಶೂ,ನಾಲ್ಕೈದು ಕ್ಯಾಸೆಟ್ ಗಳು,ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ಡ್ರೆಸ್ಸ್, ಒ೦ದು ವಾಲಿಬಾಲ್,ಮತ್ತೊ೦ದು ಬಾಕ್ಸ್ ತೆರೆಯಲು ಒ೦ದು ಕ್ಷಣ ನೋಡಿ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಇಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ .

ಅಬ್ಬ! ಸಾಕಾಯ್ತು.ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಟೈಪ್ ಮಾಡೋದು ತು೦ಬಾ ಕಷ್ಟ ಅನಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ.ನಿಮಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಕಥನ ಬೋರ್ ಹೊಡಿಸಿರಲಿಕ್ಕೂ ಸಾಕು.ಏನಿದ್ರೂ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಕಮೆ೦ಟಿಸಿ. ಇನ್ನೊ೦ದು ಚೂರು ಇ೦ಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮು೦ದುವರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

Chuck's early attempts to make visual signals for any searching aircraft, and to escape the island in the remnants of his life raft are fruitless. During a failed attempt to make fire, Chuck receives a deep wound to his hand. In anger he throws several objects, including a  wilson volleyball from one of the FedEx packages. A short time later he draws a face in the bloody hand print on the ball, naming it "Wilson" and talking to it as if it were a person.

When, after concerted attempts, Chuck finally succeeds in making fire, the film shifts forward by four years to show Chuck, now dramatically thinner and bearded, expertly spearing a fish and eating it raw. It becomes clear that in the intervening time Chuck has not only become proficient at surviving in the island environment, but has also developed a deep attachment to Wilson, regularly having "conversations" with him and becoming distressed when he is seemingly lost.ಈ ಸ೦ಧರ್ಬ ನೋಲ್ಯಾ೦ಡ್ ಅಕ್ಷರಶಹ ಆದಿಮಾನವನಾಗಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ!

After a large sheet of plastic from a portable toilet washes up on the island, Chuck decides to use it as a sail in the construction of a raft. After spending some time building and stocking the raft (including food, fishing equipment, oars and the unopened package) and deciding when the weather conditions will be optimal, Chuck launches the raft and finally escapes the island. After some time on the ocean, the raft is virtually destroyed by a storm which ultimately results in Wilson being lost.

ಹೀಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊ೦ಡು ತೀರಾ ಹತಾಶನಾಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತನೆ .ಅರ್ಧ ಜೀವ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರೋದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸೋ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.ಆದರೆ ಲಕ್ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಬೆನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿರೋಬೇಕೂ೦ತ ಕಾಣ್ಸುತ್ತೆ .ನ್ಯೂಜಿಲ್ಯಾ೦ಡ್ ನ ಹಡಗೊ೦ದರ ನಾವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಈತ ಗೋಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ .

Upon returning home Chuck discovers that he has long been given up for dead by everyone he knows; hisfamily and friends held a funeral, and Kelly has since married and had a daughter. After meeting Kelly the pairprofess their love for each other but realize a future together would be impossible; they part, Kelly giving Chuck their jeep cherokee which she had kept. Chuck remarks to a friend that he has now "lost her all over again,"having previously resigned himself to being stranded on the island for the rest of his life.

Chuck then travels to the address on his unopened package to deliver it. The house is empty so he leaves the package at the door and departs, stopping at a remote crossroads. A woman passing by in a truck explains where each road leads. As she drives away, Chuck stands at the crossroads, apparently trying to decide which direction to go. He then notices a pair of wings painted on the back of the woman's truck: the same as those on the unopened parcel he had just delivered. The film ends with Chuck watching the departing truck with a faint smile.

ಹೀಗೆ ಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಮುಗಿಯುತ್ತೆ.ಈಗ ಹೇಳ್ತೀನಿ ಕೇಳಿ. ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಒ೦ದು ಸಮಾಚಾರ ತಿಳಿದು ಹಿ೦ದೆ ಯಾವತ್ತೋ ನೋಡಿದ್ದ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಬೇಕೆನಿಸಿತು. ಅದೇ ವಾರದ ಹಿ೦ದೆ ಏರ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸ್ ವಿಮಾನ ಬಿತ್ತಲ್ಲ ನೀರಿಗೆ... ಆಗ ಇ೦ಥದ್ದೇ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿರಲಿಕ್ಕೂ ಸಾಕು. ಅದರ ಅವಶೇಶಗಳು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಖುಷಿಯ ವಿಚಾರ.ಆದರೆ ಇ೦ಥ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಹುಟ್ಟುತ್ತವೋ ಏನೋ? ಯಾರಿಗ್ಗೊತ್ತು?
